Roque St Christophe
In one of the most beautiful landscapes of the Dordogne halfway between Les Eyzies and Montignac the enormous cliff of the Roque St Christophe rises to a peak above the Vezere River. This remains one of the most original sites in the Dordogne valley.

Le Gouffre De Proumeyssac
The Gouffre De Proumeyssac is currently the largest developed cave in the Dordogne. A tunnel provides easy access to this huge underground vault whose walls are adorned with countless crystallizations of exceptional density.

Le Jardins De Marqueyssac
The Jardins De Marqueyssac are listed as a National Historic Monument and offer more than 6km of shaded paths, edged with 150,000 hand pruned boxwoods aged over 100 years. Be sure to visit on a Thursday evening to experience the gardens by candle light (July and August only).

Aquarium De Perigord Noir
The Aquarium with more than 3 million litres of water and over 6000 fish is said to be the largest private out door freshwater aquarium in Europe and is approximately a 5 minute walk from the house.

Chateau De Castelnaud
The medieval castle of Castelnaud is built on a rocky out crop and offers a splendid panoramic view of the Dordogne valley. With its collection of arms and armour and full scale reconstructions of war machines you will learn about the art of war fair in the middle ages.

  Lascaux Caves II
Discovered in 1940 the Lascaux caves contain some of the most remarkable cave paintings in the world and is known as the ‘Prehistoric Sistine Chapel’. The Lascaux paintings are least 15,000 years old. The number of visitors per day in July and August is limited to 2000 and tickets usually sell out by 2pm.

Grottes du Roc de Cazelle
In this astonishing prehistoric parc discover how the life style of our distant ancestors has been reconstructed in the actual place that they once lived. Here the statue of the Venus of Sireuil was discovered. Walk through caves and rock shelters in which you see the collection of tools and weapons carved 12,000 years ago by prehistoric man.

Le Bournat
Situated a 5 minute walk from the house you will find the local attraction of Le Bournat. This is a village where time has stood still since 1900 and takes you right back to the heart of authentic village life.

Les Eyzies-De-Tayac
Les Eyzies is visited every year by between 800,000 and 1 million visitors making it one of the most popular destinations in France. The cave lined Vezere valley has been classified as a Heritage Site by UNESCO. Les Eyzies is home to the National Prehistory Museum which houses one of the worlds most comprehensive collection of prehistoric artifacts.

Chateau De Milandes
Built in 1489, this residence with its captivating charm reveals renaissance architecture with some magnificent gothic elements. There is also a very entertaining Birds of Prey show for all the family to enjoy.

  Limeuil
This is situated at the foot of two magnificent bridges built in 1891. A stoney beach leads down to the confluence of the Dordogne and Verzere Rivers.
   Getting to the top of the village is hard bur rewarding work. Take the time to study the medieval architecture on the way up. Just a short walk leads you to the impressive St Martin Chappelle built in 1194. This chapel is a witness to the time when Dordogne was English.

Rocamadour
Rocamadour, nestled in the Lot department of South West France is a name familiar with tourists as well as connoisseurs of fine dining and rich history. One can look at the restaurants, churches and many shops and boutiques that have cropped up around this popular attraction.

Le Roque-Gageac
Le Roque-Gageac is a magnificent village officially classified as one of the most beautiful in France. Nestled into the high south facing rock in the bend of the river Dordogne Le Roque-Gageac is said to enjoy an almost meditarrean climate.

Grotte de Bara-Bahau
Classified as one of the oldest sites in human history of art, this authentic site is listed amongst the historic monuments of the Dordogne. There is a double interest in visiting this cave as it takes you on not only a journey of prehistoric art but also geology and is only a ten minute walk from the house.

Montignac
Some 26km up the Verzere valley this pretty village is most famous for being home to the Lascaux caves. Montignac has a very attraction old town and at the end of July is host to the festival of Folklore de Montignac.
